AI Image Extender
Expand an image beyond its edges with AI. Turn a tight crop into a wider scene, make room for a headline, or adapt a photo to a new shape without stretching the subject.

The same subject. More possibilities.
Explore three ways to extend the frame. AI imagines the new surroundings; review edges and small details before using the result.
Open up a landscape
Give a travel photo a wider horizon. Outpainting continues the lakeshore and surrounding scenery around the original subject.
Choose a photoMake space for your next campaign
Extend a product background to leave breathing room around the item. Add your own headline afterward in the editor.
Choose a photoReframe a portrait without squeezing it
Create room around a person for a cover or social post. Check facial details and the transition between the original scene and new background.
Choose a photoExpand, resize or crop?
Expanding generates new visual content outside the frame. Resizing changes pixel dimensions. Cropping removes part of a photo. Choose AI expansion when you need more scene, rather than a larger copy of the same image.

Questions and answers
Is expanding the same as stretching an image?
No. AI expansion generates surroundings to fit a new composition. Stretching scales existing pixels and can distort the subject.
Can it recover the original uncropped photo?
No. New content is an AI interpretation. It cannot know exactly what was outside the uploaded image.
Can I choose a portrait or landscape format?
Yes. The editor offers 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3 and 3:4. Review the generated framing before export.
