1. Who we are and where this policy applies
ClearCrowds ("we", "us" or "our") provides photo-editing services and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy covers clearcrowds.com, app.clearcrowds.com, our mobile apps, and associated support and account services. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
This is our single English-language privacy policy for the website and apps. Changing the interface language does not change this document. This policy describes our data practices; using the service is not, by itself, consent to every processing activity. Nothing here limits rights or disclosures required by applicable law.
2. Information we collect and its sources
We receive information you provide, information generated when you use the service, and limited information from sign-in, payment and other service providers. The information involved depends on the features you use.
| Category | Examples and sources |
|---|---|
| Account and contact details | Email address, account identifiers, sign-in profile details, guest-session identifiers and support correspondence. These come from you, your sign-in provider or your use of the service. |
| Photos and editing content | Uploaded images, instructions, selected editing areas, text detected in images, generated results, previews, editing history and canvas content. Images may contain people, documents or other personal information. |
| Purchase and entitlement records | Purchase and transaction identifiers, plan, renewal and refund status, credit usage and payment-provider responses. Payment providers collect payment details; ClearCrowds does not store full payment-card numbers. |
| Device and usage information | IP address, browser and device information, approximate region, pages viewed, feature use, referral information, clicks, scrolling, errors and session interactions. Session replays may include image previews displayed in the editor. |
| Mobile permissions and interactions | Photos you select, information needed for features you permit, and applicable purchase, notification, attribution or advertising events. Permission availability and settings depend on your device and app version. |
3. Why we process information
The following explains our purposes and, where a law such as the GDPR requires a legal basis, the basis relevant to each purpose. A reference to legitimate interests is subject to the balancing of those interests against your rights; it does not replace consent where consent is required.
| Purpose | Information involved | Relevant legal basis where required |
|---|---|---|
| Provide editing, previews, downloads and saved work | Photos, instructions, editing content, results, account or guest identifiers | Performance of the service contract or steps you request before entering it |
| Manage accounts, purchases, credits and support | Account details, transaction records, entitlement and support information | Contract performance; legal obligations for required accounting records |
| Protect the service and investigate errors or abuse | Technical logs, identifiers, relevant content and task records | Legitimate interests in security, reliability and abuse prevention; legal obligations where applicable |
| Understand usage and improve the experience | Usage events, device information, session interactions and displayed image previews | Consent where required for tracking or access to device information; legitimate interests only where legally available |
| Provide optional device features or communications | Information relevant to the permission or feature you choose | Consent where required, or contract performance for a feature you request |
| Respond to legal requests and resolve disputes | Records relevant to the request, obligation or dispute | Compliance with legal obligations; legitimate interests in establishing or defending legal claims |
4. Photos, AI processing and results
You retain ownership of the photos and instructions you provide, subject to the permissions needed to deliver the service. Upload only content you are entitled to use and, where necessary, obtain permission from people whose information appears in it.
Depending on the selected feature, processing may take place on your device, on our systems, or through external AI service providers. A browser-based editing feature does not mean that every editing operation stays on your device. Providers may receive the image, selected region, prompt and technical information needed for the requested operation.
Image processing can involve detecting text, objects or facial features to perform an edit. Photos and text extracted from them can contain personal or sensitive information. Avoid uploading highly sensitive material that is not needed for your edit. AI results may be inaccurate and should be reviewed before use.
We store relevant originals, results, previews and editing records to support the features you use. If a photo is handled in a temporary sensitive-content mode, library storage and sharing may be unavailable and access may expire sooner; limited processing, safety, billing and abuse-prevention metadata may remain.
We do not sell your uploaded photos or generated images. This does not mean that no third party processes them: hosting, storage, AI processing, delivery, support and experience-analysis providers may handle data for the purposes explained here. See sections 6 and 9 for recipients and usage analysis.
Choosing to share a result or sending an image link to another person may give that person access to the image. A private storage bucket does not prevent someone who holds a valid temporary access link from viewing its content. Avoid forwarding links to content you want to keep private.
5. Retention and permanent deletion requests
ClearCrowds is an editing service, not a permanent cloud archive or backup service. Free access, subscriptions and paid edits do not include indefinite image storage. Download results you want to keep and maintain your own copies.
Retention depends on the purpose, feature, processing status, account relationship, support needs and applicable legal requirements. We do not promise a fixed automatic-deletion deadline for every uploaded image. An expired access link or a missing history entry does not establish that every stored copy has been deleted.
| Information | Retention considerations |
|---|---|
| Originals, edited results and previews | Needed editing, delivery, history, support and security functions; temporary-processing conditions; verified deletion requests. Images may become unavailable when no longer needed. |
| Account and service records | The account relationship, requested services, account-deletion requests and records needed to complete outstanding matters. |
| Payment and transaction records | Billing, refunds, tax or accounting requirements, fraud prevention and disputes. Deleting photos does not necessarily delete these records. |
| Technical, security and analysis records | Troubleshooting, service reliability, security and analysis purposes, taking account of applicable provider retention and legal requirements. Browser storage may persist until expiry or until you clear it. |
- You may request permanent deletion of uploaded photos and generated images at any time by emailing [email protected]. A paid subscription is not required.
- Include your account email or sufficient guest-session information and the relevant photo or editor link so we can identify the content and verify ownership. Do not send passwords or complete payment-card details.
- Removing an item from editing history is not confirmation that all storage objects, previews, service-provider copies or other related records have been erased. A permanent-deletion request requires those copies to be considered separately.
- Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations, security or legal claims. We will explain applicable exceptions when handling your request. Permanently erased images cannot be restored.
- Account-deletion assistance is available at https://app.clearcrowds.com/account-deletion. Deleting an account does not itself cancel a subscription managed by an app store; manage that subscription with the original payment platform.
6. Who receives information
Information may be disclosed to the following categories of recipients for the purposes described in this policy. A provider may act on our behalf or, for some activities such as payment processing or an external sign-in service, under its own privacy terms.
- Infrastructure and delivery providers: hosting, databases, file storage, content delivery and operational tooling.
- AI and image-processing providers: providers used to carry out the editing or generation you request.
- Account, payment and distribution providers: sign-in services, payment processors, subscription-management services and mobile app stores.
- Support, diagnostics and analytics providers: services used to answer requests, investigate failures and understand user experience, including session interactions and displayed image previews.
- Other people you choose to share with, including recipients of links or exported images.
- Authorities, advisers or other parties where disclosure is required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims, investigate abuse, or address security issues.
- Parties involved in a business reorganization or transfer, where relevant and subject to applicable privacy requirements.
7. International processing
Our services and providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. The applicable location depends on the infrastructure, AI provider and feature used. Data-protection rules can differ between countries.
Where applicable law restricts an international transfer, an appropriate legal transfer mechanism is required, such as an adequacy decision or contractual safeguards. Contact [email protected] for information about the destinations and safeguards relevant to your data. This policy does not mean that every provider uses the same location or transfer mechanism.
8. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or restriction of processing. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to a competent data-protection authority. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Where the CCPA or similar US state laws apply, rights may include knowing the categories and specific information collected, correcting or deleting information, opting out of a sale or sharing as legally defined, limiting certain uses of sensitive information, and using an authorized agent. You must not be unlawfully discriminated against for exercising applicable rights. The statement that we do not sell photos does not itself determine how every analytics or advertising data flow is classified under those laws.
To exercise a right, email [email protected] with the request and enough information to locate the relevant account or guest session. We may need proportionate verification before releasing or deleting information. Requests, permitted exceptions, response periods and any authorized-agent requirements are governed by the law that applies to you. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain the applicable reason and available next steps.
You can choose not to upload particular content, use available account or device controls, or contact us to withdraw consent or object to a use of your data. Essential information may still be needed to complete an edit, secure an account or process a purchase. The availability of browser and device controls varies; they should not be assumed to remove previously collected information.
9. Cookies, device storage and experience analysis
We use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies for service operation, preferences and usage analysis. These technologies can associate activity with a browser, device, account or guest session. Our mobile apps may also use platform identifiers and SDKs for supported purchases, notifications, attribution or advertising features.
To improve user experience, we and analytics service providers analyze pages visited, feature use, clicks, scrolling, errors and session interactions. Session replay reconstructs interactions with the interface and may include image previews displayed in the editor. This is more than an anonymous count of page visits.
| Category | Purpose and controls |
|---|---|
| Service and security storage | Maintain sign-in or guest sessions, protect requests and enable core functionality. Blocking essential storage can prevent the service from working. |
| Preference storage | Remember choices such as interface language and recorded analytics preferences. Clearing browser storage can reset these choices. |
| Analytics and diagnostics | Understand usage and investigate experience or reliability problems. Available consent choices, browser controls and requests to support can be used to manage relevant processing. Consent is required where applicable law requires it. |
| Mobile attribution or advertising features | Measure app interactions or support advertising features where present. Use applicable device privacy permissions and platform controls; behavior varies by platform and feature. |
- Use your browser settings to inspect, block or clear cookies and site storage. Use your device settings to manage app permissions and available advertising controls.
- Where we present a consent control, you can use it to record the choice it describes. Closing a notice is not necessarily the same as changing a previously recorded preference.
- For help with consent withdrawal, objections or privacy-control requests, contact [email protected]. Browser settings or private browsing do not, by themselves, erase information already held by us or service providers.
10. Security and access
We use safeguards such as authenticated access, restricted media access and encrypted network connections to protect information. No internet transmission, storage system or access link can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your account credentials and image access links private, and report suspected unauthorized access to [email protected].
An image that fails to load may be temporarily unavailable or have an expired link; it is not proof of permanent deletion. Contact support if you need help locating an image or confirming a deletion request.
11. Children and other people in images
ClearCrowds is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where applicable law requires it. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the authorization required by law, contact [email protected] so the matter can be investigated and the information addressed.
If you upload an image containing another person, you are responsible for having the right to submit it for the requested processing. A person appearing in an image may contact us about their own privacy rights, even if they are not the account holder.
12. Updates and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service, data practices or legal requirements. The date at the top identifies the published policy. Where required, material changes will be brought to your attention and any necessary consent obtained before the new processing begins.
The current policy is published at https://www.clearcrowds.com/settings/privacy-policy. Older App and language-specific privacy links redirect to that page. For questions, rights requests, permanent-deletion requests or assistance understanding this policy, contact ClearCrowds at [email protected].
