What is Remove Text?
Remove Text is a ClearCrowds preset for erasing visible words, labels, captions, numbers, and watermark-like marks from an image while rebuilding the area behind them. It is useful when the photo is worth keeping but a sign, label, overlay, or accidental caption distracts from the subject.
The preset is different from blurring text. Blur tools hide the words but usually leave a visible block. Remove Text asks the AI editor to clean the text area and match the surrounding wall, paper, fabric, product surface, sky, signboard, or background texture.
When to use it
Use Remove Text for casual and commercial cleanup where the goal is a cleaner image, not document alteration. Common examples include removing a caption from a social photo, clearing a price label from a product shot, hiding a non-sensitive number from a sign, cleaning a screenshot-like graphic, or removing a watermark-like mark from an image you are allowed to edit.
Avoid using it on IDs, legal records, financial documents, certificates, invoices, grades, medical records, or any sensitive record-like material. For privacy protection where the object should remain visible, use Privacy Blur instead.
Tips for better results
Choose the clearest version of the image. Text removal works best when the surrounding background is visible enough for the AI to reconstruct it. If the text covers a detailed face, logo, small product feature, or complex pattern, review the result closely and run a second targeted edit if needed.
If your goal is to replace a number with a new number, use Number Editor. Remove Text is best when the old text should disappear completely.
