Pixelated
Deliberate square blocks, not a soft blur
The painted area is reduced to a coarse grid and enlarged with smoothing disabled. Everything outside the brush mask remains unchanged.

- Get an immediate result without drawing a selection first.
- Paint any shape
- Switch to selected-area mode and brush over one or several details without forcing them into a rectangle.
- Choose block size
- Use smaller blocks for a light mosaic or larger blocks for stronger visual abstraction.
- Keep the rest untouched
- Brush processing redraws only the painted mask and preserves the rest of the image.

Use the whole image or brush over every detail to hide, then adjust block size from 4 to 128 pixels.

Confirm the intended detail is sufficiently obscured, apply the edit, and download the PNG.
Obscure a detail or create a blocky visual style
Pixelation is manual and visible. Blur Faces remains the better tool when faces should be found automatically.

Pixelation must be reviewed for the actual privacy risk
A mosaic changes visible pixels but no fixed block size can guarantee that every kind of underlying information is unrecoverable.
- Use larger blocks and inspect the exported result at the size where it will be shared.
- The brush supports multiple freehand strokes; automatic object detection is not included.
- Use Blur Faces for automatic face privacy and Unpixelate Image only for improving already blocky images.
